Still reeling from Chandra’s film, Samuel takes on a new right-hand man, Eli, a multiplier who’s able to clone himself. Samuel sends him to retrieve the Primatech files from H.R.G.’s apartment. Meanwhile, H.R.G.’s plans for a date with Lauren are scotched when he realizes that Claire took the compass and is heading for the Carnival. Lauren is helping to triangulate Claire’s position when Eli shows up. H.R.G. and Lauren team up to fight, but Eli gets away with the files.

After absorbing The Haitian’s power-blocking abilities, Peter goes after Sylar, intent on beating Nathan out of him. Sylar won’t lie down, so Peter lays his hands on his forehead and pretty much sucks Nathan out. Sadly, Nathan insists he can’t continue to fight Sylar, who’s killing him. Despite Peter’s begging, Nathan throws himself off the hospital roof. Peter catches his hand, but Nathan insists it’s time to go, so Peter lets go. Nathan splats onto a parked car, then morphs back into Sylar, who waves at Peter and walks away.

Samuel gives Claire and Gretchen free passes, inviting them to tour the Carnival. Gretchen thinks it’s creepy and filled with super-powered con men, but Claire can see how someone like Doyle would gain a new lease on life while living there. When an angry, ripped-off customer starts punching Samuel, Claire steps in and scares him off. Unaware that the angry customer has been killed by the carnies, Claire decides to stay at the Carnival for a few days, sending Gretchen back to school. At dawn the next day, Samuel gathers the carnies around Joseph’s grave to announce that they must grow their ranks so they can start a permanent community on the spot. It’s time to stop running.
