Biografia:
Tento herec patrí k najznámejším hercom vo vedľajších rolách. Strieda kladné a záporné postavy. Je aj veľmi významný divadelný herec. Je herec, režisér, scenárista, spevák a hudobník, hrá na klávesy v rockovej skupine L. A. Flugs. Vyštudoval dráma na illinoiské Southern Methodist University. Tam sa zoznámil s dramatičkou Beth Henley, s ňou začal spolupracovať. V roku 1976 odišiel do Las Angeles, kde sa začal pohybovať aj v divadelnej scéne. Neskôr sa odsťahoval priamo do New Yorku, kde pôsobil tiež v divadlách. V 80. rokoch sa začal objavovať na filmových plátnach. Často býva v televíznych programoch. V roku 2002 bol nominovaný na cenu Tony award. Jeho manželka je tiež herečka Ann Hearn. Stephen je otec dvoch dospievajúcich detí.
